Hollywood Gossip | Which former hottie has been turned down by Dancing with the Stars for 10 seasons?

Melanie Griffith was a hottie at some point, right? I recall her being rather va-va-voom in WORKING GIRL, but now that the actress is trying to work it to get on "Dancing with the Stars," I feel pretty bad for her. Especially when I read that a source from the casting department at the amateur hoofer show says that she has unsuccessfully lobbied to be on the show for the last 10 cycles that it's aired.

But more distressing is finding out what the people who DO make it on the show are getting, that distress only multiplied by seeing how many non-stars have been cast recently (including Audrina Patridge, that douche "The Situation" from "Jersey Shore" and Bristol "I hope the Rhythm Method works for me this time" Palin). Upon signing for the show the participants get an initial $125,000. But if they continue to perform well, getting high scores from the judges and call-in votes from the geriatric viewers, their checks keep coming in. After the first couple of weeks, $10,000 is paid for weeks 3 and 4, $20K for weeks 5 and 6, $30K for weeks 7 and 8 and $50K for the final two weeks. Which brings their grand total, should they make it to the finals, $345,000. And that's WITHOUT additional expenses such as expensive hotels and transportation.

In the past, while Griffith has not been able to squeeze herself into the work, former semi-names like Melissa Joan Hart have convinced casting execs to give them a chance. Conversely, the show has tried to woo other stars such as Joel McHale, Drew Carey, Tim Allen and THE EXPENDABLES chief, Sylvester Stallone. They'd have to get Emmanuelle Chriqui to dance nude if they wanted me to pause for half a second, but that's just me. Anyone else actually watch this spectacle?
