It's always a bit awkward when young actresses grow up, because by virtue of the industry they're in, if they don't grow up at least fairly hot then they probably won't make it as an adult in Hollywood. So decidedly not legal females become legal, often naked lust objects, and we all get to feel a bit dirty. This week we got a young Oscar winner who is turning undead heads on TRUE BLOOD. Let's get down with: ANNA PAQUIN!

ASS (7/10):

Pretty decent hind end here. Nothing to write romantic poetry about or anything, but a limerick or two would certainly be in order. Especially since she seems to be improving her overall body shape lately, which is helping to tighten up some of what has not always been so good.

BOOBIES (6/10):

Meh. Paquin's packing some tiny little titties. Sometimes that works, but in her case it just kinda looks like an underdeveloped girl. Not really sexy for those who aren't at risk of running afoul of Chris Hansen.

FACE (6/10):

I'm not sure there's an actress working who takes worse pictures than Anna. Some of her red carpet shots are an absolute horror show. So what's going on? Well, it's a mixture of the fact that she has a bit of a fugly face, and some really poor makeup choices are also to blame. She is sexy, but good-looking, not so much.

PERSONALITY (8/10):

AP has more or less made a cottage industry out of being coquettish. The Kiwi-Canadian is well educated, well spoken, and well, just a pretty damn together chick. Given how sexy she can come across despite the handi-caps already discussed also recommends her as a force to be reckoned with in this category. It's hard to pinpoint just what it is we love about her, but she's most definitely one of those "there's just something about her," chicks.

CAREER (9/10):

Obviously AnPaq has done well for herself both in choice of films and performance in the roles she's taken. And with her current gig on TRUE BLOOD it's unlikely that she's going anywhere soon. I would like to say however, that while it's impossible to count any film that you won an Oscar for as a low point, I absof*ckinglutely hate THE PIANO. Feels good to get that off my chest.

High points: THE PIANO, X2, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE, TRICK 'R TREAT
Low points: X-MEN: THE LAST STAND

OVERALL (7/10):

Anna Paquin is a puzzling case. I think from a strictly physical standpoint she's little better than a 6. Someone you'd hook up with when drunk, but that you'd probably lie to your friends about it later. Problem is there is something sexy about how she carries herself that makes her more than the physical would indicate. Which I guess is good news for her new husband, since looks fade, but attitude can sustain for a lifetime.

Let me ask of you, did you ever see a girl in the buff IRL, or did you compare photographs of Anna with those of the airbrushed, digitally altered Miss August and came to the conclusion that Anna’s butt is too big, her boobs “tiny little” (if you consider her rather firm breasts to be small, then you’ll probably regard my 34B’s as peas), and her face a “bit of ugly”? Truly pathetic. Bah.

I've always loved Paquin. She comes off as a child actress whose managed to find herself a successful career, and she has grown up to look great. I agree that she has a few physical set backs, but those are minor....
